A note on MS Windows XP and office 2003 You maybe aware that MS Windows XP will no longer be supported after April 2014 and you may need to start to make plans now.
Your own IT hardware supplier will no doubt be letting you now about this change, but be aware that more modern Windows systems may not support or be compatible with any older CRM systems such as older versions of GoldMine (GoldMine 6x in particular) as well as older versions of ACT!
So, the first thing is to read this useful Notification from Microsoft article givng you their view.
Why is this important to you?
"The security and privacy implications of this event could have significant impacts on your business, so if you’re running either Windows XP or Office 2003 you should plan to take action soon to guard against security risks, software issues, system failure and lack of technical support." according to Microsoft.
Of course, they are looking to upgrade, but bear in mind this is a 10 year old system and vulnerable as well...We've all read about Cyber warfare and hacking and 10 years development in this area may leave you open to attack as we move forward. So, what to do?
