ACT! 2014 Launch and upgrade Price increase

ACT! 2014 was launched on the 11th September and our website is now fully updated. More details can be found on the website ACT! pages with a pdf download on  What is new in ACT! 2014”.  We are also running an upgrade promotion during the course of September and October to encourage clients to upgrade and take advantage of this offer.  Bear in mind, that upgrade prices only apply within the last four releases and this is ACT! official policy, outside of that, then All upgrades are priced as NEW licences.

ACT! are also instigating a price increase for upgrades after 11th October, so NOW! is the best time to get a quote.  For more details, contact your Account Manager or email sales directly

GoldMine Premium 2013.1 launch …and the Wall Street Journal

GoldMine launched this release on 4th September and have also changed their product numbering system (as we recommended back in 2011!) so it will be simpler for clients to understand which version they are on and how old it is. The new version will be known as GoldMine Premium 2013.1 and is part of GoldMine’s commitment to releasing two upgrade editions per year together with regular monthly hotfixes.

GoldMine is now a separate division within FrontRange and this focus has led to increases in new licence sales together with further increased spending on R&D in the last year and into the future. This renewed focus impacts on this new release GoldMine 2013.1. This version has a number of distinct improvements and added user benefits including:-

  • Constant Contact integration, an email system MAS have been using since earlier this year for our one-off emails. Constant Contact has over 500,000 customers and MAS are also a partner. Setting up the link is as easy as three simple steps. A video explaining this integration can be seen at our webpages for third party products and on the GoldMine Webpage, there is a link.  This new intergration made news in the US and GoldMine featured in the Wall Street Journal…..
  • Office 2013 and Office 365 support, this compatibility is now included although 64 bit is due out in the next release GoldMine 2013.2

A MAS webinar on the new features will be held in the next few weeks, so follow us, although a preview webinar on GoldMine 2013 and Constant Contact was held a few weeks ago and can be viewed online.  This lasts around 30 minutes.

A note on MS SQL Licence changes and promotions. Microsoft are moving away from encouraging linking and bundling of SQL, thus from November, new licences of GoldMine will no longer come with MS SQL 2008 for Workgroups.  However, there is a promotion to upgrade to MS SQL 2012 for a fixed price per licence running for a period and this may be attractive.  Call your Account Manager to get more details of this policy and how it may affect you.

GoldMine Mobile and GoldMine 2013

An interesting aspect not widely known is that with GoldMine Mobile, you can see your linked and send linked emails which will be attached to your GoldMine history. GoldMine Mobile Edition customers will need to upgrade to GMME 9.3.0.44 in order to use with GMPE 2013.1.  New GoldMine Mobile versions will include Android connectivity…..

 

Third party product Updates - Synety - CTI integration with GoldMine

Synety, a company MAS have been working with since last year now have a CTI link to integrate with GoldMine, which operates in a similar way to Tapilink.  The importance of this link and announcement was so newsworthy, that yet again GoldMine featured in the Wall Street Journal in August!  so, twice in two months! 

Synety however, have focussed on developing cross-CRM platform integrations so that they are now able to offer CTi starting from as low as £10 per user per month, complete Cloud based CTi integration including recording of calls for feedback and legal purposes, hosted on their own servers.  Calls are directed though Synety and many clients find this can also reduce their own telephone bills. As a cloud based software, integration and set up is very quick and easy and doesn’t require any onsite configuration, provided PBX is suitable.  Synety now has solutions for a range of products, including:-

  • GoldMine
  • MS CRM 2011
  • Salesforce.com
  • SAGE CRM
